“How do I look?” asks a drunk and disheveled Taylor Kitsch as the main character Alex Hopper, asking his brother while getting ready to talk to a girl at the bar. As soon as he asked this, I replied “Like you crawled out of an Abercrombie and Fitch garbage can”. Our first five minutes includes our main character drunk and approaching a woman who wants a chicken burrito who can’t have one, to where he goes as far as to leaving the bar, breaking into a convenience store by way of the ceiling for said chicken burrito and getting tazed by the cops. Next morning, he wakes up and dishearteningly talks to his brother played by Alexander Skarsgard, who’s main purpose is to bitch and nag at his brother pointing out the traits of his brother that make us not want to like him. Then BOOM! the Battleship title card appears. Get ready to play, right?
